NONIMMIGRANT VISA SERVICES

General Information

The Consular Section is open for nonimmigrant visa services from 08:30 to 11:30 on weekdays excluding Tuesdays and Thursdays, Armenian holidays and U.S. holidays. Armenian citizens planning a temporary visit to the United States must first obtain a nonimmigrant visa. Interviews are conducted in English, Armenian or Russian. U.S. citizens may supply a letter of invitation to their relatives applying for a U.S. visa, but this letter cannot serve as a guarantee for visa issuance. Any such letters of invitation should be sent to the visa applicant, not to the consular section. We do not have the resources to match incoming, unsolicited correspondence with upcoming visa application appointments. Consular officers may not accept the guarantees of a third party, nor accept a bond on behalf of the applicant.

Applicants not Ordinarily Resident in Armenia

Applicants from outside this office's consular district may apply for visas. However, you should be aware that language difficulties and interviewing officers' unfamiliarity with local conditions in other countries may make it more difficult to demonstrate your qualifications for a visa here than in your home district or at a post designated for your application.

Assisting Unaccompanied Minors

Airlines have special programs in place to assist unaccompanied minors during flights and onward connections. Each program varies by airline, and we encourage you to call the airline or review their websites for specific information, especially if there is a connecting flight. In general, "unaccompanied minor services" are offered by air carriers for children 5 – 13 years old. There is usually an additional fee for this service. Most airlines require in advance that certain information be provided via a special form available from the airline. Airlines may request biographical information (e.g. passport information, address, telephone numbers) about the person who will accompany the child to the airport, and the person who will meet the child at the destination.
